Bob Willett is a partner in O'Melveny's Los Angeles office and also serves as the Firm's Vice-Chair. Bob has acted as lead counsel in a variety of matters, including the prosecution and defense of patent, intellectual property, antitrust and securities law cases, class actions and shareholder derivative actions, tradename, and trademark cases, real property and air pollution actions, inverse condemnation and many business torts and other commercial disputes.
Bob currently represents, as lead counsel, a large aerospace company, a semiconductor manufacturer and computer equipment companies. As lead counsel, Bob has frequently represented a tire company and public utilities, among others, in major patent actions, antitrust litigations and other matters. Bob's involvement in complex technical issues has led to his representation as lead counsel in major litigation centering on the design, development and manufacturing of computer hardware and software, including microprocessors and disk drives.
Bob has substantial class action experience in securities cases and mass tort/toxic contamination litigations.
Bob's trial experience includes jury and bench trials lasting from a few days to several months. Bob has successfully represented clients in arbitration before the International Commerce Commission and the American Arbitration Association. Many of the matters Bob has led have international connections and he has experience with client matters originating throughout the United States, and in Japan, Korea, Hong Kong, Latin America, and Europe.
