Work Coordination

O'Melveny's work coordination system is designed both to promote the assignment of work in a balanced and equitable way, and to incorporate lawyers’ professional development goals during the work assignment process.

Work Coordinators are designated partners with the primary responsibility for assigning work to their designated associates and counsel. In this role, Work Coordinators:
  • Efficiently meet the staffing needs of clients and lawyers in their respective department or practice groups.
  • Respond to work assignment issues.
  • Consider the professional development needs of their assigned associates and counsel.

When assigning work, Work Coordinators use a variety of informational tools, including utilization reports, reports provided by associates and counsel, annual evaluations, Individual Development Plans, and one-on-one meetings.

We realize we are not the only law firm professing to offer challenging work, professional development, and a collegial environment.  Beyond the apparent similarities lies what truly defines a firm—the professional and personal experience it offers.
