Joe Kim

Joseph Kim is the Head of O'Melveny's Korea Practice.  During his 25 years at O'Melveny, he has represented US, Korean and other foreign clients on a broad variety of matters. With his educational background and work experience in both law and business, Joe has guided clients through many difficult and complex legal matters.  As head of the Firm's Korea Practice, Joe advises both Korean companies with legal matters in the US as well as US companies transacting business in Korea.

In addition, Joe represents domestic companies, financial institutions and fund clients on transactional matters.  He has deep experience in complex financing transactions.  These representations include senior acquisition financings and recapitalizations, asset-based financings, mezzanine financings, high yield financing, restructurings, and work outs, including a number of them involving billions of dollars.

Joe also has extensive experience representing clients in mergers and acquisitions, cross border investments and joint ventures.  In cross border transactions, he has experience handling both inbound transactions into the US as well as outbound transactions from the US.
