John-Paul Motley is partner in O'Melveny's Los Angeles office and a member of the Capital Markets Practice. He represents issuers and investment banks in registered offerings and private placements of debt and equity and in mergers and acquisitions. John-Paul also advises corporations on securities law compliance, disclosure issues and corporate governance matters. He has been lead counsel in numerous domestic and international initial public offerings, follow-on offerings and high yield offerings. He also advises on consensual debt exchanges and restructurings, PIPE transactions, and private equity and venture capital financings.
John-Paul has been recognized as a Southern California "Rising Star" in a survey conducted by Law & Politics Media Inc. and published in
Los Angeles magazine and the Southern California edition of Super Lawyers for the past five years. The Legal 500 (2010) has also noted that he is particularly recommended on the equity side with his experience in representing a number of issuer clients.
