Bloomberg Law: O’Melveny Gets Former Justice Attorney for White Collar Practice

David V. Harbach II, a former senior prosecutor with the US Department of Justice and Assistant US Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia and in the Southern District of New York, is joining O’Melveny’s white collar and corporate investigations group. Harbach also served as special counsel to FBI Director James Comey from 2014 to 2015 and as a trial attorney in the DOJ Criminal Division’s Public Integrity Section. Harbach has brought more than 35 cases to verdict in both federal and state courts and, most recently, co-led investigations at The Hague into war crimes committed during the Kosovo conflict in the late 1990s. “David has prosecuted everything from complex white-collar and violent-crime cases to narcotics and RICO cases, including various financial fraud, corruption, and campaign-finance violations,” said Steven J. Olson, co-chair of O’Melveny’s white collar defense and corporate investigations practice. Harbach will reside in O’Melveny’s Washington, D.C. office.
