Only 82 out of the 362 initial public offering applications that were filed last year with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange were successfully listed. Among US law firms, those with expertise in the biotech, pharmaceuticals, health care, and technology sectors fared better in the competition to advise on those IPOs. O’Melveny & Myers LLP advised on eight listings, including the US$192 million Hong Kong IPO of hair care health specialist Yonghe Medical Group Co. Ltd in December.
