Law360: Music Rights, Radio Station Groups Settle Licensing Fee Row

Global Music Rights LLC and Radio Music License Committee Inc. announced settlements of antitrust suits over the licensing fees that RMLC’s members pay GMR’s musicians. RMLC asserted monopolization claims against GMR’s demands for increased fees but GMR argued that RMLC “is rallying its 10,000 radio station members and their 3,000 radio group owners to boycott the music organization to cut rates.” The settlements end a more than five-year-old dispute.
