Philadelphia Inquirer: Christian School Leader is First Witness For Republican Lawmakers in Pa. School Funding Trial

Republican legislative leaders called their first witness in a case where six school districts are challenging the state of Pennsylvania’s public school funding system. Aaron Anderson, CEO of private school Logos Academy, said his school was adequately educating its students but lacked the money to do more. “You wouldn’t venture to guess all the challenges a public school faces that Logos does not,” said Anne Marchitello, counsel at O’Melveny & Myers LLP representing the plaintiffs. Anderson agreed with Marchitello’s further questions regarding the importance of resources that public school teachers and officials lack, including small class sizes, tutoring, and reading specialists.
