Reuters: O’Melveny Latest Large Law Firm to Steer Metaverse-Related Deal

O’Melveny & Myers LLP advised New York-based sports and entertainment company ReKTGlobal Inc. in its US$470 million acquisition by metaverse development company Infinite Reality LLC. ReKTGLobal plans to grow using Infinite Reality’s gaming, virtual and remote production, and metaverse creation resources. The term “metaverse” refers to the idea of a “shared virtual platform that users can access through different devices and where they can move through digital environments.” The O’Melveny team was led by the sports industry group co-chair Charles Baker and partner Noah Kornblith.
