Reuters: ‘Shorthanded’ NYC Agencies to Borrow Lawyers from Major Law Firms

New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced the launch of the New York City Legal Fellows Program, a new initiative where junior attorneys from major law firms across the city will serve a one-year appointment in the legal department of a city agency. The attorneys will continue to be employed by their firms for the duration of the program, but will be considered full-time employees of the city. O’Melveny & Myers LLP will participate in the program.
