The Hollywood Reporter: Power Lawyers 2023: Five of Hollywood’s Legal Legends

O’Melveny partner and Trial Practice chair Daniel Petrocelli has been named to The Hollywood Reporter’s list of “Legal Legends,” a supplemental special feature of the publication’s annual “Power Lawyers” list that “honors entertainment attorneys whose career achievements and contributions to the industry are extraordinary.” The Hollywood Reporter lauded Petrocelli, who also serves as a vice chair of the firm, for his work in an array of headline-making cases throughout his career, including his successful defense of AT&T’s US$85 billion merger with Time Warner against the US Department of Justice’s Antitrust Division in 2018. “I’ve litigated just about every kind of significant area: trademarks, securities, mass tort, criminal, insurance, construction, patent, antitrust, and pretty much any kind of entertainment case,” Petrocelli said. “I’ve always eschewed the ‘Hollywood lawyer’ moniker because I never wanted to be branded as such. I always wanted to be considered a lawyer and litigator of all types.”
