The National Law Journal: Latest Biden Nominees Would Be First Latino on DC Circuit, First Women of Color on 5th Circuit

The White House has announced deputy assistant attorney general in the Office of Legal Counsel Bradley Garcia as a nominee to serve on the DC Circuit. Garcia, who would be the first Latino on the court, was previously a partner at O’Melveny and Myers LLP where he handled criminal law, insurance, and patent rights matters and argued more than a dozen cases before federal and state appeals courts. “Brad is one of the finest lawyers I know, and one of the finest people,” said Jonathan Hacker, chair of O’Melveny’s Supreme Court and Appellate Practice. “Brad’s modesty and good humor mask the razor-sharp intellect that made him such a successful advocate. That same combination will make him a terrific appellate judge and an effective member of a collegial court like the DC Circuit. The court and the country will benefit immensely from his service.”
