O’Melveny & Myers LLP, along with Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, advised California-based chipmaker Broadcom in its US$61 billion acquisition of VMware, a cloud computing company. It is the second largest deal of 2022 behind Microsoft’s US$75 billion bid to acquire Activision, and it is expected to close in Broadcom’s fiscal year 2023. The O’Melveny team was led by partner Adit Khorana, along with partners Andrew Dolak and Greta Lichtenbaum, special counsel Scott Pink, counsel Kirk Dungca, Tom Oslovar, David Ribner, Clarence Rowland, and associates Lauren Stamey and Tara McMillen.
