The Texas Lawbook: O’Melveny Steals Two More Lit Partners from Baker Botts

O’Melveny announced that Travis Sales and John Anaipakos have joined the firm as partners, launching O’Melveny’s litigation practice in Houston. Both Sales and Anaipakos joined from Baker Botts, where Sales spent 36 years and Anaipakos spent 29 years. “We were not looking to make a move, but we were presented with a perfect opportunity,” Sales said. “I’ve worked with several O’Melveny partners and I really respect their trial practice.” O’Melveny launched offices in Texas in 2021 and now has 66 lawyers in the state. “Texas is at the epicenter of the energy transition and I think will experience a boom in litigation from it,” Anaipakos said.
