Yahoo! Sports: Report: NBA GMs Forming Association To Support Execs Amid Concerns About Trail Blazers Investigation

NBA general managers have been working to form a professional association that would support executives around the league and hope to finalize it in the wake of the Portland Trail Blazer’s internal probe into their president of basketball operations and general manager Neil Olshey. The association would be similar to the National Basketball Coaches Association and would give executives access to legal defense funds, lawyer referrals, and PR professionals. The Trail Blazers hired O’Melveny & Myers LLP to conduct a “fair and independent review” after complaints of workplace misconduct were made against Olshey. It is alleged that Olshey created a hostile work environment that included intimidation, profanity-lace tirades, and bullying. The investigation is expected to last a few more weeks.
