FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

NEW YORK—January 2, 2019—Crain’s New York Business has named O’Melveny partners Nicole Argentieri, Nancy Mitchell, and Lisa Pensabene to its 2019 Notable Women in Law list.

The special feature, which was published online and in print as part of Crain’s “Book of Lists” issue, recognizes attorneys who have had an impact on New York City in major ways through their legal work and civic or philanthropic efforts.

In its profile of Argentieri, a white collar litigator and former federal prosecutor, Crain’s noted that since joining O’Melveny in 2018, “Argentieri has amassed a growing list of high-powered clients.” The publication also observed that, “During her decade-long tenure as an assistant U.S. attorney, Argentieri led and supervised complex investigations and prosecutions, including a civil rights case charging a federal Bureau of Prisons lieutenant with the repeated sexual assault of a female inmate under his supervision.”

Pointing to her more than three decades of restructuring experience, Crain’s observed of Mitchell: she has “developed expertise in providing assistance to debtors, acquirers and creditors in complex restructurings and Chapter 11 proceedings. She has counseled clients on a number of large-scale bankruptcies and restructurings, including her ongoing representation of Puerto Rico government agencies in the largest in-court restructuring in U.S. history.” Crain’s noted Mitchell is also “engaged in a range of civic-minded activities, including New York City’s The Workshop Theater.”

Head of O’Melveny’s Life Science Litigation practice, Pensabene “handles high-stakes patent litigation for companies in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries,” Crain’s wrote. “She has worked on cases involving drugs for treatments spanning from cancers, HIV and diabetes to cardiovascular disease and neurological disorders.” Crain’s also cited Pensabene’s role in co-founding the Women in IP Network, intended to provide an opportunity for women in the field of intellectual property to network and enhance their skills.
