Managing Intellectual Property Names Two O’Melveny Partners Among Top 250 Women in IP

New York—May 3, 2018—Managing Intellectual Property has named O’Melveny partners Heather Meeker and Lisa Pensabene to its list of “The Top 250 Women in IP 2018,” a worldwide review that covers contentious and non-contentious IP work in more than 80 jurisdictions.

The special report features women practitioners who have “performed exceptionally for their clients and firms in the past year” and is based on research obtained through interviews, email, and online surveys with thousands of firms, IP practitioners, and their clients.

Based in Silicon Valley, Meeker advises technology clients on intellectual property matters across technology transactions, including licenses, channel sales agreements, development agreements, university technology transfer, and consumer contracting. She also specializes in open source software licensing as well as technology and IP issues in mergers and acquisitions. Additionally, Meeker advises on copyright, patent, trademark, trade secret, and other IP matters.

Pensabene is head of O’Melveny’s Life Science Litigation practice and is based in New York. She handles high-stakes patent litigation in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. A first-chair trial lawyer, Pensabene has led major pharmaceutical and chemical patent litigations, leading cases in bench and jury trials, arguing to the Federal Circuit, and leading briefing to the US Supreme Court.

Both Meeker and Pensabene are also members of Momentum, O’Melveny’s industry group focused on guiding emerging and technology companies through every stage of the business lifecycle.
