Three O’Melveny Lawyers Named to 2021 Pro Bono Dean’s List by Volunteers of Legal Service

NEW YORK—October 26, 2021—O’Melveny partner Alicja Biskupska-Haas, counsel Marina Richter, and associate Emily Mills have been named to the 2021 Pro Bono Dean’s List by Volunteers of Legal Service (VOLS), a New York-based nonprofit that provides underserved New Yorkers with free civil legal services.

According to VOLS, the 2021 Dean’s List honors “the hardworking and dedicated attorneys” who have served New York City amidst “the threefold crises of the pandemic, economic recession, and racial injustice over the past year.”

The O’Melveny team was recognized for creating, organizing, and presenting workshops that provided tailored, practical training to help local New York City entrepreneurs navigate the legal hurdles of starting and operating small businesses. Along with offering COVID-19-specific advice, the O’Melveny team also introduced small business owners to foundational transactional law concepts, including entity formation, labor and employment, contracts, sales tax, and intellectual property.
