Melissa Wright is an associate in O’Melveny’s Silicon Valley office and a member of the firm’s Transactions Department. 

Melissa advises technology clients on transactional and general corporate matters, including venture capital and private equity financings, public and private offerings of debt and equity, mergers and acquisitions, cross-border transactions, and public company reporting.

Melissa’s professional experience includes: 

• Start-up company counseling, including entity formation, debt and equity financings, operational issues and exit transactions;
• Investment transactions for venture capital funds, private equity investors, and institutional investors, including initial and follow on investments, debt financings, recapitalizations and divestitures;
• Strategic transactions for public and private company clients, including buy-side and sell-side representations in mergers, acquisitions, and asset purchase transactions;
• Corporate governance counseling, including preparation of periodic filings for public company clients and advising on compliance matters; and
• Extensive work with clients in a variety of high technology sectors, including the semiconductor, clean technology, electronic design automation (EDA), media, mobile, internet, gaming, networking security, storage and software markets.

Melissa is also involved in the firm’s pro bono and community involvement initiatives. Representative pro bono work includes advising low income entrepreneurs and non-profit companies on entity formation and related subjects and leading presentations to local small business organizations on general legal considerations.
