Evelyn Becker is a partner in O’Melveny’s Washington, DC office and a member of the Labor and Employment, and Class Actions, Mass Torts, and Aggregated Litigation practices. Her practice focuses on employment and class action litigation. She regularly represents employers in matters involving Title VII, Section 1981 of the Civil Rights Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Executive Order 11246 (enforced by the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs), and state-law claims of discrimination and wrongful discharge. She has particular experience in representing companies in class action litigation, where she has assisted clients in obtaining dismissals or resisting certification of more than a dozen putative class and collective actions.
Evelyn has handled federal, state and administrative actions in jurisdictions throughout the United States, including California, New York, Illinois, Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, Louisiana, New Jersey, Alabama, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Ohio. She has also handled various matters before the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation. Evelyn has represented clients in a variety of industries including aviation, automotive, entertainment, retail, and telecommunications.
In addition to her litigation practice, Evelyn advises clients in equal employment opportunity and affirmative action compliance, developing and administering personnel policies, and employee discipline and terminations. She has also conducted numerous internal investigations of alleged discrimination, harassment, retaliation and employee wrongdoing.
