Victoria C. Hargis focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation in the consumer product, financial services, and healthcare sectors. She regularly represents clients in consumer class actions, ERISA and securities litigation, False Claims Act cases, and adversarial proceedings in bankruptcy court. She has significant experience litigating in state and federal courts across the country. She also has experience handling internal investigations, regulatory inquiries, and DOJ and SEC enforcement actions.

In addition, Victoria maintains an active pro bono practice, utilizing her native Spanish to provide bilingual legal representation, primarily in immigration-related matters. She currently represents a young Salvadoran seeking asylum in immigration proceedings, and has worked with several legal services organizations, including Centro Legal, Kids in Need of Defense (KIND), and SIREN (Services, Immigrant Rights, and Education Network).

Before joining O’Melveny, Victoria clerked for the Honorable David A. Ezra of the US District Court for the Western District of Texas, in San Antonio. Judge Ezra also sits by designation several times a year on the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Victoria received her J.D. from UC Berkeley School of Law, where she served as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Berkeley Journal of International Law. She is active in the alumni community and passionate about giving back to Berkeley Law, returning to campus often for clerkship panels and recruitment, and serving as a mentor for the First Generation Professionals program.
