Scott Voelz is a partner in O’Melveny’s Los Angeles office and a member of the firm’s Class Actions, Mass Torts, and Insurance Litigation Practice. He has been recognized as a Southern California “Rising Star” by Los Angeles Magazine.

Scott has represented clients in a variety of areas, including class and mass actions involving product liability and property damage claims, environmental and toxic tort cases, contract and construction claims, oil and gas lease disputes, and employment claims. Scott has also represented major entertainment studios in a number of intellectual property matters. Scott has handled and tried matters in both federal and state courts, as well as a variety of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) settings.

• Representing a food and beverage company against several consumer fraud class actions concerning the company’s beverages
• Representing a major pharmaceutical company in wrongful death suits involving a prescription pain reliever in a number of federal and state courts
• Representing a package pickup and delivery company in dozens of employment related class and individual actions in federal and state courts
• Representing a beverage company in several purported class actions pending in California state courts alleging violations of California's Unfair Competition, False Advertising, and Consumer Legal Remedies statutes
• Represented a defense contractor in federal and state court against class and mass toxic tort actions involving air and groundwater contamination in Burbank, California 
• Represented a major lawn and garden products company in wrongful death and personal injury actions related to alleged exposure to various fertilizer products
• Represented a mining company in property damage class actions in federal and state court in South Carolina
• Represented a major pharmaceutical company in product liability actions in several state and federal courts 
• Represented a hotel chain in defense of California Business & Professions Code Section 17200 claims regarding its vacation packages
• Represented a contractor in contract disputes with a government agency over the management and administration of toll roads in Orange County, California
• Represented school district in several major construction contract disputes
• Represented royalty owners in oil and gas lease disputes with oil companies
• Represented a real estate investment trust in a lease dispute over the operation of a golf course in Santa Barbara, California 
• Represented a film studio in a Lanham Act and copyright infringement action arising from the marketing and production of a competing television series
• Represented an entertainment company in a dispute with licensor over proper accounting of licensing royalties 
• Represented a major telecommunications company in defense of a securities action which sought to prevent a multi-billion-dollar debt offering
