Suzzanne Uhland

Suzzanne Uhland is a partner in O’Melveny’s San Francisco and Newport Beach offices, is Chair of the Restructuring Practice, and is a member of the Policy Committee. Suzzanne has substantial experience in Chapter 11 reorganizations and representing buyers and sellers in Bankruptcy Code Section 363(b) sales and other distress transactions. She also represents financial institutions and public and private companies in connection with credit financing transactions.
Suzzanne often practices with the Firm’s Transactional attorneys, both in bankruptcy cases and in structuring transactions to avoid bankruptcy-related risks. Suzzanne also has a significant range of experience in real estate, technology, retail, and healthcare financings and restructurings.

- Debtors-in-possession, creditors, and DIP lenders in business chapter 11 cases of public and private companies
- Buyers and sellers in Bankruptcy Code Section 363(b) sales and other distressed mergers and acquisitions
- Financial institutions and public and private companies in connection with credit financing transactions
- Licensors and licensees of intellectual property in connection with preserving or acquiring intellectual property rights in distressed situations
- Real estate lenders, landlords, and owners, including the reorganization of one of the largest office complexes in Orange County
Recent matters include representation of:
- Represents New Century Financial Corporation, one of the largest of subprime lenders to have filed chapter 11, in general bankruptcy, corporate and litigation matters as debtor in possession
- Represented Printronix, an entity controlled by Vector Capital, in its acquisition of assets from TallyGenicom LP in TallyGenicom’s Chapter 11
- Represents Advanced Marketing Services, a major distributor of books to retailers, in its chapter 11 case, including 363 sales of its two major business divisions
- Represents Western Digital in its acquisition of substantially all of the assets of Read Rite Corporation and related proceedings pertaining to intellectual property license rights
- Represents Replay TV (SonicBlue, Inc.) as special bankruptcy litigation counsel in its litigation with Intel, Inc.
- Represents SeraCare Life Sciences, Inc., as special litigation and corporate counsel in its Chapter 11 case
- Represents cable Internet company Excite/At Home in its Chapter 11 proceeding, and the At Home Liquidating Trust in the winddown of the estate
- Represents private equity fund Harrington Partners in its bankruptcy acquisitions
