Vision Winter is a partner in O’Melveny's Los Angeles office and a member of the Intellectual Property and Technology Practice within the Litigation Department.  His practice focuses on intellectual property litigation, primarily in the electrical, computer science, and electronics fields.  Vision is also a registered professional chemical engineer in the State of California and, before joining O'Melveny, worked at Procter & Gamble as a power and controls project engineer.  He has been named a “Rising Star” in intellectual property litigation in a survey conducted by Law & Politics Media Inc. and published in Los Angeles Magazine and the Southern California edition of Super Lawyers (2009-2014).

  • Represented manufacturer and supplier of audio, video, and computer peripherals in a multi-defendant patent infringement action in the Western District of Washington involving keyboard-video-mouse (KVM) switch technology
  • Represented global microprocessor manufacturer in an Eastern District of Texas patent infringement litigation alleging infringement of 12 patents relating to the operation of the floating point unit at the core of the client's microprocessors; favorable settlement
  • Represented designer and manufacturer of orthodontic appliances and related entities in defending a Section 337 ITC investigation involving software and technology used to manufacture clear dental aligners; favorable settlement included substantial payment to client
  • Represented company providing credit and debit card payment processing, electronic check conversion, and related software applications, products, and services in defending patent infringement allegations in the District of Delaware involving technology used in point-of-sale check processing systems; settled for nuisance value
  • Represented manufacturer and supplier of MP2 player accessories in defending a patent infringement matter involving FM transmitters that allow an MP3 device to transmit its signal to, and play through, a radio receiver; favorably settled
  • Represented global microprocessor manufacturer in cases before the U.S. International Trade Commission and the Northern District of California in which plaintiff alleged that its trade secrets were stolen and used to make electrical circuit components that infringed three patents relating to DC-DC power controllers; cases successfully settled with a freedom-to-operate agreement
