STEVE WARREN (CLASS OF 1988) joined O’Melveny’s Partner Admissions Committee. 1990 DANNY ASHBY (CLASS OF 1990) joined O’Melveny as Partner in our Dallas office. He was named to D Magazine’s 2022 list of “Best Lawyers in Dallas,” which honors the top lawyers in Dallas as chosen by their peers. KELLY MCTIGUE (CLASS OF 1990) retired as an O’Melveny Partner. Consistently ranked among the nation’s top environmental lawyers by Chambers USA, Legal 500, and the Best Lawyers in America, Kelly is an authority on water and air quality, climate change, reporting obligations, and permitting issues. Recognizing his unique experience, Best Lawyers in America named Kelly a “Lawyer of the Year” in 2021. Kelly has directed national and international environmental diligence for clients involved in mergers, acquisitions, and financings. He has represented clients in many industries, including mining, waste management, property development, ports, airports, energy, oil and gas, manufacturing, biotechnology, and entertainment. He is a master of the arcane and evolving world of California environmental and energy law, with great skill in both litigation and transactional matters. A frequent participant in public hearings, Kelly has negotiated countless agreements with federal and state environmental agencies. The relationships he has formed with regulators, and his thorough understanding of rules and regulations have enabled him to anticipate the issues likely to confront his clients, and to offer them wise advice in any circumstance. Kelly is hugely empathetic, particularly for associates and counsel who have yet to find their MICHAEL MCGUINNESS (CLASS OF 1987) retired as an O’Melveny Partner. Michael joined O’Melveny in 1988, and during his extraordinary tenure, he established himself as a respected and trusted leader in the areas of Aviation and Labor & Employment litigation. A wide range of clients—including American Airlines, US Airways and Atlas Air—has benefitted from Michael’s tireless dedication and outstanding work ethic. Recognized by the Daily Journal and Legal 500 as a top Labor & Employment lawyer, Michael has also been lauded for his acumen in intellectual property and antitrust litigation. Michael’s character is as impressive as his track record in court. A consummate O’Melveny Partner, Michael genuinely cares about his colleagues, clients, and community. He has dedicated considerable time to pro bono matters, working on everything from drug rehabilitation to asylum cases. He has also been quick to help facilitate labor and employment pro bono work for various non-profits.
