Under Trump’s administration, if immigrants presented themselves prior to a new “metering” rule, they would be granted asylum, this article reported. Law360 notes the most recent amicus brief urges the District of Columbia’s Ninth Circuit to continue to temporarily bar the Trump administration from blocking entry of non-Mexican asylum seekers caught in that country when new restrictions took effect for in-transit, “third country” immigrants.
