Publications Note O’Melveny’s Role as Energy, Environmental Counsel in Second-Largest PE Takeover of Energy Producer To Date

Articles in the February 25, 2012 edition of Am Law Daily and March 1 edition of the New York Law Journal reporting on the recent move by a private equity consortium led by Apollo Global Management to acquire El Paso Corporation's oil and gas exploration and production units in a US$7.15 billion leveraged buyout note that O'Melveny is serving as special counsel to Apollo on energy and environmental matters related to the divestitures by El Paso. The team includes New York-based partner Eric Rothenberg, who leads O'Melveny's Energy, Natural Resources and Environment practice, and Los Angeles partner Kelly McTigue and counsel Bob Nicksin of the Firm's Project Development and Real Estate practice. According to Am Law Daily, Bloomberg has called the deal the second-largest private equity takeover of an energy producer to date.
