American Lawyer: And the LOTW Runners Up…May 31, 2019
O’Melveny’s win on behalf of pro bono client Oscar Flores in a wrongful imprisonment case was featured in The American Lawyer’s “Litigation Daily” column. In addition, the firm received an “honorable mention” in the publication’s “Litigator of the Week” contest for this result.
In this case, retired partner Chuck Diamond led the O’Melveny team, which worked to free Flores of all charges against him, including drug trafficking, firearms trafficking and extortion. The now-freed pro bono client had spent more than four years in prison awaiting trial, and it only took a jury less than an hour to find Flores not guilty on all charges.
The O’Melveny team also included partners Melody Drummond Hansen, David Kirman and associate Katie Gosewehr.
