Daily Journal: Antitrust Attorneys Supportive But Cautious About New Federal Collaboration Guidance

O’Melveny partner Stephen McIntyre was quoted in the Daily Journal about federal enforcement agencies’ plans to ensure competitive collaborations to combat the coronavirus. The article continued, that antitrust attorneys supporting federal agencies’ plans state that clear guidelines are needed throughout the crisis as well as provisions for when the crisis has passed. “I don’t want to speculate about what is in the agencies’ head, but I do think they recognize that in order to meet this crisis, they need to make sure the marketplace is working efficiently,” McIntyre said. “Part of that is providing guidance to ensure these pro-competitive collaborations can take place. And provided those expedited review processes will help, I think it will help ensure business operating with more certainty and confidence.”
