Apalla Chopra Discusses USC Case in Daily Journal

June 07, 2016

O’Melveny partner Apalla Chopra was quoted in the article, “Student asks high court not to review USC fair process case,” published June 7, 2016 in the Daily Journal. The article explores questions over the fairness of a sexual assault disciplinary proceeding at the private university.

As the article points out, under California law students dissatisfied with a proceeding must first seek administrative review. “This is a very narrow form of review to ensure that a trial was fair and that the findings are supported by substantial evidence,” Chopra told the Daily Journal.

LA-based Chopra is chair of O'Melveny's labor and employment practice.
