Associated Press: Families Turn Down Travis Scott Offer To Pay For Funerals

Travis Scott’s offer to pay for the funeral costs for those who died as a result of a crowd surge at his Astroworld Festival has been denied by their families. Scott’s attorney, Daniel Petrocelli, sent a letter on behalf of the rapper to the family of Ezra Blount, a nine year-old boy who died from injuries sustained at the concert, expressing Scott’s “deepest sympathies and condolences.” The letter stated that Scott would like to pay for Blount’s funeral expenses and that he wanted to reach out in person, but did not want to intrude on the family’s privacy. “Travis is devastated by the tragedy that occurred at the Astroworld Festival and grieves for the families whose loved ones died or were injured. Travis is committed to doing his part to help the families who have suffered and begin the long process of healing in the Houston community,” Petrocelli wrote.
