Benchmark Litigation Names Brown a Top Woman in Litigation

June 30, 2015 Benchmark Litigation highlighted 250 women as the best of the best in litigation in its June 2015 special report. The report quotes the peers of O’Melveny & Myers’ Mary Pat Brown, as saying, “Mary has one of the best reputations for being an honest, straight shooter.” They further add, “If I wanted to single out someone to walk into the Department of Justice and have absolute credibility, it would be her.”

Brown is a partner in O’Melveny’s Washington, D.C. office and serves as the firmwide Co-Chair of the White Collar Defense and Corporate Investigations Practice.

Before joining O’Melveny, Brown was a Deputy Assistant Attorney General and a top advisor to the Assistant Attorney General for the Criminal Division at the US Department of Justice. She also has held a number of other senior leadership positions within the Department of Justice and the US Attorney’s Office in Washington, DC, including Chief of the Criminal Division at the US Attorney’s Office and head of the Justice Department’s Office of Professional Responsibility. Over the course of her distinguished career as a federal prosecutor, Brown has represented the United States government in more than 100 criminal appeals and jury and bench trials.
