Brock Discusses Arbitration Laws in China Business Law Journal

April 01, 2017

O’Melveny partner Denis Brock was quoted in an article about the One Belt One Road initiative in the April 2017 issue of China Business Law Journal. In the article, “Think Big,” Brock examines the intersection of arbitration laws in the various countries participating in the massive infrastructure project, which would connect the economies of East Asia with those of Western Europe. More than half of the countries involved have adopted the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL) Model Law in their domestic arbitration laws.

Brock told the publication that existing arrangements are likely to be sufficient in most cases, observing, “What we have in place at present is a fairly sophisticated existing arbitral regime.”

Brock is the managing partner of O’Melveny’s Hong Kong office and serves as chair of the International Disputes and Arbitration Practice. He concentrates his practice on commercial and corporate arbitration, litigation, and regulatory investigations.
