September 30, 2021

The Pegulas, owners of the NFL’s Buffalo Bills, have made known their preferences for building a new stadium for their club. Governor Kathy Hochul announced a state-commissioned study on the subject that will be released to the public soon. The Empire State Development Corp. has hired O’Melveny & Myers LLP to “provide targeted, strategic advice concerning plans for the stadium and to lead negotiations on behalf of the state.” O’Melveny partner Irwin Raij “represented the state in the 2013 negotiations over the Bills stadium renovation.” The new stadium is expected to cost US$1.4 billion and will be located near the team’s current stadium in Orchard Park, NY.
