Daily Journal Features Vision Winter

December 20, 2016

O’Melveny partner Vision Winter was featured in a front page story in the December 19, 2016 edition of the Daily Journal. The article, “Slacklining Helps Attorney with Balance,” discusses Winter’s passion for slacklining, a sport that involves balancing on a rope or fabric suspended above the ground.

“Athletics can help provide a sense of balance after a strenuous workday. In Winter’s case, the balance is a bit more literal,” the Daily Journal observed in its story.

“You really have to put everything else off your mind and really focus,” Winter told the publication, noting that he began by practicing the sport in a park near his office. “When I’m slacklining, I’m really just focusing on the two trees, and getting to that tree in front of me.”

As fellow O’Melveny partner Cassandra Seto told the Daily Journal, slacklining is just one example of how Winter, a one-time contestant on the ABC game show “Wipeout,” pushes himself.

“We recently worked on a case together, and after a long day of work, Vision said that he would be a few hours late the next morning,” Seto said. “He showed up at 11 a.m. with a race number still on his leg, and casually mentioned that he had just completed the Malibu triathlon.”

At O’Melveny, Winter draws on his extensive professional engineering experience to help technology companies protect their creative assets in patent, trade secret, and other intellectual property disputes. His clients include some of the world’s leading names in consumer electronics, computers and peripherals, mobile devices, medical devices, business systems, microprocessors and semiconductors, and aerospace and defense.
