Daily Journal Notes O’Melveny’s Role in Clara Labs’ Series A Financing

The Daily Journal’s August 1, 2017, “Dealmakers” column featured O’Melveny’s role advising Basis Set Ventures as the lead investor in Clara Labs’ US$7 million Series A financing. Basis Set Ventures is an early-stage venture fund that focuses on improving work productivity through artificial intelligence. The San Francisco-based O’Melveny team was led by partner Scott D. Elliott, counsel Noah Kornblith, and associates John Zhu and John Chong.

Elliott is co-head of the firm’s Life Sciences Practice and focuses his practice on corporate and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate financing transactions, and general corporate and securities law issues. Kornblith advises clients across a broad range of US and cross-border M&A transactions, including mergers, tender and exchange offers, as well as stock and asset acquisitions, capital markets, and other strategic transactions. Chong is a corporate transactional associate, and Zhu is an intellectual property associate.
