May 25, 2017

O’Melveny counsel Brad Elias was quoted in a May 25, 2017, article in the Jackson Advocate about a pro bono case the firm is handling on behalf of the Southern Poverty Law Center. The organization has sued the state of Mississippi for violating a nearly 150-year-old, legally binding obligation to operate a “uniform system of free public schools” for all children.

“These children deserve the same strong start as any other students in their state and we are committed to seeing that they get it,” Elias told the newspaper.

Based in New York, Elias focuses on securities, M&A, and commercial litigation, and has represented clients in a broad a variety of cases, including shareholder class actions, derivative suits, contractual disputes, securities fraud actions, and other complex corporate matters.
