Law360: ‘Empire’ Copyright Case Against Fox Rejected For Third Time

June 17, 2019

A team of O’Melveny lawyers represented 20th Century Fox in a copyright lawsuit alleging the television show “Empire” was derived from an unproduced treatment, titled “King Solomon.”

US District Judge Percy Anderson tossed the case after the plaintiff, Jon Astor-White, and his teams of counsel failed to prove the accusations for the third time.

The O’Melveny team included Daniel Petrocelli, Molly Lens, Anton Metlitsky and Patrick McNally.
