Workplace flexibility has become “the most sought-after work arrangement.” Yet, while flexibility can mean greater autonomy for employees, it can also create significant challenges for management. As the article notes, “how do you manage a team when you don’t know exactly where they are?”

Recently, O’Melveny & Myers LLP created more flexible options for all lawyers at the firm. Mary Ellen Connerty, O’Melveny’s Director of Diversity and Engagement, said that care was taken to intentionally include partners in the conversation because the firm “didn’t want this to be an associates and counsel issue, but a shared issue and go under the bigger umbrella of well-being.”
