March 28, 2012

The March 28, 2012, edition of the Daily Journal featured Robert Willett, a Los Angeles Superior Court Judge and former O’Melveny & Myers partner, in its routine Judicial Profile. The story details Willett’s first big antitrust case with IBM as a third-year associate that led to years of a wide variety of civil cases, which helped prepare him for the diversity of cases he now sees in family court in downtown Los Angeles.

"While he might not have been an expert on spousal support the day he walked in, he certainly was an expert in the other areas of civil procedure," said Santa Monica attorney Ruth L. Estep in the article. "He's that unique combination of scholar, communicator and patient listener."

Willett began his career at O’Melveny in 1974 and spent 36 years with the Firm, including nearly 10 years as a vice chair. "He was a big presence in the courtroom and a great trial lawyer," said longtime colleague Robert E. Siegel, a partner at O'Melveny, in the article. "He's a person of extraordinary integrity and great values."
