Hacker Quoted by Law.com on O’Melveny’s Success in Front of the Supreme CourtSeptember 17, 2015 Law.com’s September 16, 2015, article, “Study: Veteran Advocates Influence the Language of High Court Rulings” details a recent report about the most effective law firms arguing before the Supreme Court. The report puts O’Melveny & Myers at the top of that list. Jonathan Hacker, Chair of the Firm’s Supreme Court and Appellate Practice, was asked about the report and O’Melveny’s tactics when arguing before the Supreme Court. “[W]e do always aspire to write briefs that are simple and clear, yet colorful enough to hold the reader’s attention,” Hacker said in the article, continuing that the firm also tries to “anticipate the court’s concerns and address them in the kind of straightforward language the justices themselves use.”
