O’Melveny partner Sabrina Strong is quoted in this article about Oklahoma District Judge Thad Balkman’s recent judgment updating his August ruling ordering client Johnson & Johnson to pay US$572 million to help cover the costs of abating the opioid crisis in the state. As the article reported, on Nov. 15 Judge Balkman cut that payment to US$465 million. This development “marks another procedural step on the way to appeal ... As was said when the judgment was announced, the company has very strong grounds to have this decision overturned,” Strong commented.
