Kassinger Comments on Political Implications of US Commerce Department’s ZTE Trade Ban

May 18, 2018

O’Melveny partner Ted Kassinger recently spoke with Public Radio International on their program “The Takeaway” for a segment about how President Trump’s recent comments on Chinese telecom company ZTE relate to a potential larger trade deal that the Administration is seeking with China.  President’s Trump’s comments came in the wake of the Commerce Department’s action barring US companies from exporting to ZTE for seven years, saying company had violated a prior settlement of charges for making illegal shipments to Iran and North Korea.
