Ke Geng Quoted in Finance.QQ on Regulatory Scrutiny on Cross-Border Deals

September 19, 2016

O’Melveny Beijing partner Ke Geng is quoted extensively in an article in the Mandarin-language publication Finance.QQ detailing Chinese companies’ concern about scrutiny from various countries’ regulatory authorities toward Chinese investment.

Geng notes that Chinese companies have gone from previously not worrying about regulatory bodies’ scrutiny toward Chinese investment to becoming overly concerned about it. He adds that, “Whether in the US or Europe, the majority of transactions we have done have not needed to go before an outbound investment committee.”

Geng advises Chinese companies in connection with outbound investments and exchange listings in the US or Hong Kong, as well as the privatization of US- or HK-listed companies, private equity and venture capital financing, mergers and acquisitions transactions, and general corporate matters.
