Los Angeles Times: USC Names Retired Aerospace Executive Wanda Austin as Acting President, Announces Nikias’ Departure

The trustees of the University of Southern California appointed Wanda Austin, an alumna and former president of the Aerospace Corp., to serve as interim president following President C.L. Max Nikias’ resignation. They also established a search committee and hired two search firms to help the University find its next president. Nikias’ resignation came after his administration was called into question for mishandling a campus gynecologist accused of sexually abusing patients. O’Melveny is conducting an independent investigation of the gynecologist and has interviewed over 100 witnesses and collected 4.5 million documents.
