Lash Addresses Housing Law Pro Bono Work in Latest Op-Ed8월 03, 2017
In his latest article for Above The Law, O’Melveny counsel David Lash addresses the powerful correlation between access to housing and education, and discusses how lawyers can have a tremendous impact on families in need through pro bono work involving housing law.
“A little recognized, but obvious, by-product of homelessness or housing instability is the impact on the overall well-being of children, innocent victims of poverty,” Lash writes. “The link between housing and schooling needs to be understood by everyone in its path, including legislators, educators, and attorneys. Attorneys, especially, by protecting against homelessness and ensuring access to housing...have a unique ability to change the lives of these affected children.”
Lash serves as managing counsel for pro bono and public interest services, overseeing the firm’s national and international pro bono program. He resides in O’Melveny’s Los Angeles office.
