Law360: 2 NBA Teams Tap BigLaw Firms Amid Toxic Workplace Claims

The Portland Trail Blazers hired O’Melveny & Myers to conduct an investigation into hostile workplace claims at the team’s practice facility. The investigation is reportedly centered around the Trail Blazer’s president of basketball operations and general manager Neil Olshey, who is accused of bullying and intimidating employees. “We immediately engaged O’Melveny & Myers, an outside firm with significant expertise in this area, to conduct a full, fair and independent review into these concerns and will take appropriate action based on its outcome,” the team said in a statement. “We are committed to continuing to build an organization that positively impacts our colleagues, communities and the world in which we live and play.” O’Melveny has conducted a number of internal investigations into workplace misconduct including a recent review of verbal abuse and unwanted physical contact allegations against former Syracuse head women’s basketball coach, Quentin Hillsman.
