Law360: DOJ Insider Monaco Confirmed As Top Deputy
April 20, 2021
In a 98-2 Senate vote, former O’Melveny partner Lisa Monaco was confirmed as the Department of Justice’s newest Deputy Attorney General, Law360 reported.
The position is Monaco’s latest in government after previous high-profile positions as Barack Obama’s homeland security advisor, chief-of-staff to the director of the FBI, and DOJ’s assistant attorney general for national security.
“She knows the building from top to bottom and the inner workings of government at the highest levels,” one former DOJ official commented.
