O’Melveny partner K. Lee Blalack II reflected on his time in the US Marine Corps in observance of Veterans Day and shared how his time serving in the military prepared him for his career as a lawyer.

The publication asked attorneys who have served in the military to share their experiences and how their legal careers have benefitted from the discipline that comes with military service. Blalack, who trained in South Carolina and served with the Marine Corps during the Persian Gulf War, emphasized the perspective he gained. “Compared to boot camp at Parris Island, life as a lawyer is a piece of cake,” he said.
