Law360: Harvard Says Student Can’t Pin Downfall On Denied Diploma

Harvard University filed a motion for summary judgement in a suit brought by Damilare Sonoiki, who accused the school of wrongfully denying him a diploma due to a sexual assault accusation. “Harvard was not only allowed, but required under its disciplinary procedures to withhold plaintiff’s degree while it investigated the complaints against him,’ the school argued. Harvard is represented by Anton Metlitsky, Apalla U. Chopra, and David Cohen of O’Melveny & Myers LLP.
